Laura and Doug held their beautifully rustic wedding at the utterly gorgeous Hookhouse farm in Outwood in Surrey. Hookhouse farm is a family run, working farm that has now dedicated the use of its 17th century threshing barn to weddings. With its beautifully exposed beams and rustic feel, the barn is a huge success, giving couples the chance decorate the inside as they wish to fit in with the day they dream of. This is exactly the reason Laura and Doug chose Hookhouse for their special day. They wanted a very relaxed, chilled day that they could make their own. Laura and Doug had opted to hold their wedding blessing outside, using hay bales for chairs for their guests, each one adorned with rustic covers, with flowers running down either side of the aisle. Very unfortunately however, the weather had decided to be a little unkind on the day of wedding, so the decision had to be made to cover the beautiful outside ceremony area with a marquee. This however, for me, only added to the intimacy of the day and was an extremely wise decision as the heavens opened during the entire ceremony and for some time after.
Luckily the rain did pass and we managed to take a short car journey in their beautiful wedding car to Outwood Mill for a few shots. Heading back to the barn just in time before the rain poured again. Luckily all the guests had made it into the barn and ready for their Wedding Breakfast meal, of which Laura and Doug had chosen to have an afternoon tea, with each table having their own beautiful hamper full of goodies.
It was such a shame that the weather wasn’t on Laura and Dougs side for their Wedding Day, but i truely have to say this did not dampen their spirits at all, and it was an utterly gorgeous wedding with their beautiful friends and family.
