Walled Garden at Cowdray Wedding

Cowdray Walled Garden Summer Wedding

I absolutely fell head over heels in love with the Walled Garden at Cowdray. This was my first time shooting a wedding here and I seriously hope it won't be my last. Set within the grounds of one of England's finest country houses, Cowdray, if you love nature and beautiful scenery then this could be the wedding venue for you. With beautifully manicured gardens, the most fabulous Victorian greenhouse, a gorgeous central lawn for garden games and gravel pathways leading you around the garden where you will find plenty of hidden gems and space for you and your wedding guests to enjoy.

Ellie and Dan’s wedding at the Walled Garden in Cowdray took place in early September with 40 of their nearest and dearest friends and family. With hopes of being able to hold the ceremony outside quickly diminished by the great English weather a last minute decision to move to indoor ceremony was made. The indoor space is too an absolute gem, with beautiful stone walls washed with colour from uplighters set around the room and 2 tall fabulous floral pillars set either side of the registrar table, the room looked stunning. Luckily following the ceremony the rain held off for the rest of the day allowing Ellie and Dan and their guests to enjoy the gardens.

I spent the entire day with Ellie and Dan, from meeting Ellie in the morning at Cowdray where she was getting ready with her sister and family all the way through to the dancing in the evening, which was well worth waiting for to see Ellie in her evening attire consisting of the most gorgeous sparkly sequined jumpsuit A super chilled day with a lovely number of guests that ensured I could capture everyone enjoying the day.

I shoot weddings in a relaxed documentary style for the most part and the gardens at Cowdray gave the perfect opportunity to relax and capture lots of natural photos of the guests framed beautifully among the gardens. At every corner and direction you look within the walled gardens there is photo opportunity after photo opportunity. No shortage of beautiful backdrops for the bride and groom portraits and formal family group shots. Love Love Love!!
