Unique Wedding at the Weald and Downland Museum

This was the first time I had captured a wedding at the Weald and downland museum, and after a year's delay due to the dreaded Covid I was so happy Thuy and Amit were able to finally have their day in Spring 2021.

The Weald and Downland museum is a fantastic unique location for a wedding. Set in the South Downs national park among acres of gorgeous parkland and many unique historic buildings, a perfect backdrop for any wedding. This unique venue has 2 rooms licenced for wedding ceremonies, the large Jerwood gridshell and the smaller and beautifully intimate Crawley Hall.

Originally Thuy and Amit had planned a large wedding to be held in the Jerwood Gridshell, a fantastic large innovative and modern space that would be an absolutely amazing room for a large wedding. They did though, with their much smaller guest numbers choose to still hold their wedding at the beautiful Weald and Downland but in the smaller and just as amazing 15th century Crawley Hall.

With the gorgeous vaulted beamed ceiling and drapes and florals adorning the beams the room looked absolutely stunning. I joined Thuy, Amit and their guests for the start of the ceremony and stayed with them for a few hours to capture some more formal shots. It was lovely too, to have plenty of time to walk around the Weald and Downland with Thuy and Amit, exploring some fantastic locations for some gorgeous Bride and Groom portrait shots. We even managed to pass by, much to my delight, the BBC’s Repair Shop barn.
