Micro + Elopement Weddings

With weddings now officially wiped out for the rest of the year, what does the future hold for post covid weddings? There is no knowing when weddings as we know them will return, so here is my guide as to how you can still get married and you can still have the most amazing day.

Whatever you choose to call it, be it an elopement, a minimone, or a micro wedding, these terms are all something we may have to get used to for the next year or so. After all, people will always fall in love, and people will always want to get married, so how can you do this and get through the covid loop!!

With current guidelines only allowing wedding receptions with 30 guests this may put a lot of couples off who have been dreaming of that large fairy tale wedding with all their nearest and dearest. But actually, small weddings are just, if not even more amazing and what's best, much cheaper!!

So, what do you need for a micro wedding?

A venue or awesome location, a dress, maybe some flowers and each other, and if you like a small selection of friends and family to share the day, that's just about the 2 of you!!

From a photography point of view, micro weddings and elopements are great, less time constraints of large sit down meals, fewer family group shots and way more time to spend capturing just the 2 of you, either at the location you are wed or taking an hour out to take a drive to some awesome scenery or a walk around a city location. More time to relax and more time to get creative.

Another advantage to holding a smaller micro wedding or elopement is that they can be held on any day of the week and at any time of year. No need to plan your wedding for a weekend when your guests will be free, book it on whatever day you choose. You’ll more than likely get better rates too for other wedding suppliers too as midweek days for weddings are less sought after.
