Documentary family photographer, Brighton
I first met this little man and his family when he was just 9 days old, so was thrilled to be asked back to capture a few more shots 6 months on. With family visiting from Australia it was the perfect time to capture a few more shots around this gorgeous Brighton home.
Natural documentary family shots at home are my absolute favourite, capturing the normal happenings and day to day life.
Reuben was a due a feed when I arrived and it was so lovely to capture dad, Michael feeding Reuben on the bed. Although he found me and my camera to be a bit more interesting on this occasion than his bottle, keeping an eye on me whilst I moved around the room.
With mum Lorraine and Dad, Michael, we then captured a few shots of the 3 of them together on the bed, with no direction from me the 3 of them just did what any new family would do. smiling, cooing and cuddling and enjoying the time, just as they would if I wasn’t there.
Heading into Reubens nursery, Michael sat with Reuben looking at some of his favourite books whilst I snapped away, not only at them, but also some of the little details around the room, from clothes hanging up to toys on the shelf. Pictures that will become a memory in years to come of how gorgeous his nursery was.
Reuben behaved perfectly and allowed me to capture the exact kind of images I love. Beautiful, natural and relaxed. Family photography doesnt need to be staged, and there are no requirements for backdrops, just a loving family. Here a few of my favourites from the day..
