BECKIE + PHIL // HENDALL MANOR BARNS WINTER WEDDING
Twinkly lights, mulled wine, cosy fur shrugs, individual Christmas bauble favours, soft diffused winter light, stunning venue, gorgeous bride and groom, amazing friends and family, all in all and pretty perfect winter wedding to end my 2016 season
Hendall Manor Barns is such a perfect wedding venue and after having shot 2 previous weddings at this venue, a summer wedding and an autumnal wedding, i was thrilled to now have the opportunity to see what this venue has to offer for a full on winter, Christmas wedding. It is so lovely to be able to photograph and see the differences at the same venue in different seasons. And yes, it looked stunning in all. I do though absolutely adore winter weddings and this one just proves that you don't need that blue sky, crisp sunny winter day for it to be spectacular.
Beckie and Phil had opted for the perfect mix of winter wedding with a little touch of Christmas, just to help everyone feel a little festive but without it being a Christmas theme. With the bridesmaids in a mix of floor length and mid length blue dresses, with gorgeous shrugs to match and simple yet stunning bridesmaid bouquets of gypsophila, tied and finished with individual lockets, each with a different meaning for each bridesmaid. Such a gorgeous and thoughtful idea.
Trying to be as Eco friendly as possible Beckies bridal gown was bought second hand from Brides Dress Revisited, which was then customised by a very talented seamstress Andrea Kerry, who created a lace overskirt, from fabric that Beckie had purchased from Goldhawk Road market. Perfection!
Following the perfect morning at the venue with the girls getting ready and a gorgeous ceremony with readings by Beckie’s sister and bridesmaids we braved the cold for some absolutely gorgeous Bride and Groom portrait shots, using the stunning archways in the gardens and pond area for some wintery reflection shots. With Beckie’s sister on hand to help maneuver through the locations!
With the guys then helping out to rally other friend and family through to the gardens for some formal shots before heading back into the warmth for more mulled wine before the start of the Wedding Breakfast.
An absolute fantastic example of how a winter wedding should be.
