On what had to be one of the hottest days of the year I photographed the fantastic wedding of Angela and George. Angela and George, had chosen the Hotel Du Vin for their ceremony, a venue they fell in love with for its fantastically stunning, yet quite quirky interior. As described by the hotel themselves, the hotel is “An eccentric mix of gothic revival and mock tudor architecture. Set in the Brighton Lanes, just a stones throw from the seafront this venue and its location was an absolute dream. With the option for photographing the urban streets and alleyways that make up the Brighton Lanes to heading down to the seafront, (a very busy seafront on this day I might add!) for some great British seaside Brighton photography. Their ceremony was held in the Ruinart room at the Hotel Du Vin, with a great Brighton mural artwork on the wall, serving as the backdrop to the ceremony table. With french doors leading back out to the hotels Bistro area.
Following the ceremony all the guests headed out to the courtyard area of the Hotel Du vin for a lovely sunny drinks reception.
Angela and George had hired a beautifully fantastic maroon red vintage Wedding car from Falcon Wedding Cars, and what a head turner this car was! Pete from Falcon Wedding Cars even secured another booking for a wedding while waiting with the car parked outside the Hotel.
I then had the absolute pleasure of joining Angela and George in the car for a drive along Brighton Seafront to find some great locations for some Bride and Groom shots. Angela had said on our initial meeting that she would really like some photos of her and George in the Bandstand on Brighton Seafront. Unfortunately, however the bandstand was in use on this day with a full Orchestra in place, so plan B was quickly put into action!! A little further down, towards Hove, we headed for the multi-coloured Beach huts to grab some shots.
Of course, being one of the hottest days of the year so far, the beach and seafront was heaving with people, which for George, who didn't particularly enjoy having his photo taken made him feel even more uncomfortable. So when we were invited to drive through the finish line of cycle race on the beach green, George wasn't too keen, but with a gentle persuasion from Angela thats just what we did!! (You did great by the way George!!)
Following our little jaunt in the car we headed to Angela and Georges next incredible venue choice for their Wedding Breakfast and evening party. The coach house in the Lanes in Brighton is an intimate and unique venue, with a great quirky layout and the perfect venue for an intimate, friendly Wedding Reception. The gated outside terrace is fantastic to allow guests to enjoy themselves in the privacy of their own space. I absolutely loved this venue and the light that shone through the inside bar area through the windowed ceiling left me with some fantastic atmospheric pictures of the evening reception and speeches.
Soon after the Wedding speeches I left Angela and George with their guests to enjoy their evening, which I am sure they did!! Thank you so much Mr & Mrs Mynott for letting me share your day with you!!
