A Winter Wedding at the fabulous Long Furlong Barn in Sussex was the absolute perfect way to end my busy 2014 wedding season. Nick and Victoria had chosen the barn because of its beautiful surroundings and because most of all it provided the intimate and warm atmosphere they wanted for their wedding day. Having spent an hour with the guys in the morning at the Findon Manor hotel, just 5 minutes from the barn, I then met with Victoria at Long Furlong Barn, where along with her mum and sister they were getting ready in the barns purpose built bridal suite. A gorgeously decorated room, creating a lovely calm atmosphere for the Bride to get ready.
Nick and Victoria’s Ceremony was held in the beautifully converted Cart Shed at the Barn, with stunning views over the South Downs National Park and twinkly fairy lights over all of the beams, the roomed oozed with everything a Winter Wedding 5 days from Christmas should.
With all the guests happily drinking mulled cider and enjoying the canapes in the outdoor marque we were able to make use of all the photographic opportunities the South Downs has to offer and with the Sun shining and wind blowing we could create the gorgeous flowing veil shot the Victoria wanted!!
The evening reception was held in the beautifully and sympathetically restored Granary Barn. A grade II listed barn dating back to the 1800’s, with far reaching views over the south Downs again, this venue was just a photographers dream.
It was then during the meal when I was taking a short food break that Victoria came to me and told me that we just had to get some shots of her and Nick in front of the wondrous sunset that was just starting. Now, I love a sunset so this was definitely something that was worth missing the last couple of mouth falls of food for, and, oh boy, I was not disappointed!! I decided that to make the most of the colours in the sky I shall drop Nick and Victoria into a silhouette shape and the results ( i think!) were fantastic!
A gorgeous venue, a gorgeous sunny Sussex winter wedding and an absolutely stunning couple, both inside and out left me with a very warm fuzzy, happy feeling when I left this wedding. Bloomin Lovely!!
Thank you so much to Nick and Victoria for letting me be a part of your special day i had an absolute blast! I wish you both all the happiness for your long future together as the new Mr and Mrs Taylor. xxx
